Polish Library

On March 21st, 2013, the Polish books collection was opened at the temporary Christchurch Public Library on Peterborough St.  It replaced our Polish library lost during the February 2011 Earthquake.

The celebration was honoured with the presence of the Ambassador of Poland, who unveiled a memorial plaque dedicated to our national poet Adam Mickiewicz, marking the 40th anniversary of Poland—New Zealand diplomatic relations.

In October 2018, the Polish collection was relocated to its permanent home, the new central library Tūranga, where it can be found on the 4th floor.

Opening Times

Monday to Friday 7am to 8pm

      Saturday, Sunday: 8.30am to 5pm
