Dear Friends and Family,
It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Mrs Czesia Panek. Mrs Panek was a remarkable person, a cherished friend, and a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Czesława or Czesia Panek Wierzbinska
(Auckland, Oamaru & Christchurch)
was a Pahiatua Child who, together with her two sisters and other Pahiatua Children, arrived from Persia (present-day Iran) to New Zealand on October 31st 1944.
Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support touched many lives and created lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
During this difficult time, we find comfort in the beautiful moments we shared with Mrs Czesia and the joy she brought into our lives. As we come together to mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind and the profound impact she had on our hearts.
To honour the memory of our beloved Mrs Czesia Panek, there will be a vigil on Wednesday, October 22nd at 1pm. The vigil will take place at Our Lady of Victories, located at 106 Main South Road, Sockburn, Christchurch.
Following the vigil, there will be a gathering for tea and coffee where we can share memories and support each other during this time.
Mrs Czesia’s Funeral will be held in Oamaru at the Saint Patrick Basilica, 68 Reed Street, on Thursday, 23rd October at 1pm.
