Thank You for a Wonderful Christmas Eve – See You Next Year!

On Saturday, 13 December, we came together for the Polish Association’s Christmas Eve gathering at the Multicultural and Community Centre in Christchurch. It was a warm, family-style evening that brought together nearly 70 people. Thank you all for coming and for creating such a special atmosphere.

We enjoyed a wonderful shared feast, including pierogi handmade in advance by the Association, as well as bigos and beetroot borscht, plus many delicious dishes and homemade cakes brought along by our guests. A heartfelt thank you goes to our cooks and volunteers who helped in the kitchen, with decorating, and with cleaning up - your effort and teamwork made the evening run so smoothly.

This year we were especially excited to have a new Christmas tree and beautiful table decorations, which made the hall look truly magical. We would like to sincerely thank the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Wellington for their support, which helped us create such a wonderful festive setting - thank you for helping make this celebration so memorable.

Of course, what made the night truly shine was being together: we sang beautiful Christmas carols, shared conversations and smiles, and enjoyed the sense of community that comes with celebrating these traditions far from home. The children were thrilled to receive a visit from Santa, who arrived with a sack full of presents - there was so much joy in the room.

Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way: by attending, bringing food, lending a hand, and sharing your kindness. Your presence and support are what keep our community strong.
